1. Scope
This policy applies to mail.ikashimi.com, our subscription and preference pages, and editorial emails sent under the Ilija Kashimi name. A third-party site you visit through a link has its own privacy policy.
2. Data we collect
- Subscription data: email address, optional first name, language, country, time zone, age range, interests, goals, delivery days and times.
- Choice and consent records: the permissions you select, policy and form versions, timestamps, a hashed IP address, user-agent information, and request identifiers used as evidence of your choices.
- Delivery and engagement data: messages sent, delivery signals, bounces, complaints, unsubscribes, link clicks, feedback, and an open signal where the receiving mail client loads our tracking image.
- Attribution data: referral and campaign parameters, opaque click IDs, and conversion status or value returned by an affiliate partner. We do not give affiliate partners your raw email address through our click links.
- Security data: technical request information needed to prevent abuse, protect forms, and diagnose service errors.
3. Why we use it
- To verify your address and send the letters you expressly requested.
- To apply your schedule, topics, language, and other preferences.
- With your separate optional choice, to learn from clicks and feedback and improve selection.
- With your separate optional choice, to include relevant, clearly marked sponsored or affiliate recommendations.
- To measure delivery, maintain suppression lists, prevent unwanted mail, protect the service, and comply with legal obligations.
Where applicable, these uses rely on your consent, performance of the service you requested, our legitimate interests in security and aggregate measurement, and compliance with law. You may withdraw optional consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
4. Email choices
We use double opt-in: delivery begins only after you enter the verification code sent to your address. Every marketing message includes controls to change preferences, pause delivery, or unsubscribe. Unsubscribing stops marketing mail; a one-way hash of the address may remain on a suppression list so that we honour the request and do not add it again by mistake.
5. Sharing and service providers
We use carefully selected providers for hosting, databases, email delivery (including Amazon SES), security, and operational monitoring. They may process only the data needed to provide those services under their own contractual and security obligations. Affiliate networks may receive an opaque click identifier and subsequently report a conversion. We do not sell subscriber lists or disclose raw subscriber emails to affiliate networks.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or as part of a genuine business reorganisation where appropriate safeguards continue to apply.
6. International transfers
Providers may process data outside your country. Where transfer restrictions apply, we use an available lawful mechanism and appropriate safeguards, such as contractual protections.
7. Retention
Pending, unverified subscriptions and verification records are normally removed after 30 days. Detailed tracking records are normally kept for up to 90 days, after which we may retain aggregated statistics that no longer identify a subscriber. Active profile and consent records are kept while the subscription operates. Suppression records and evidence needed to honour an unsubscribe, handle complaints, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations may be retained longer.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Use the preference link in a letter for routine changes or email support@ikashimi.com. We may need to verify that the address belongs to you.
9. Security and children
We use access controls, signed links, encryption in transit, rate limits, and hashed identifiers where practical. No online service can guarantee absolute security. The publication is intended for people aged 18 or older and is not directed to children.
10. Changes and contact
